Tips for Finding Copyright Friendly Images

  • Search for photographs licensed under the Creative Commons.
  • Search specific websites or domains that you know will supply copyright friendly images.  For example, the government of Canada and the U.S. government often allow their photographs to be copied for educational purposes.
  •  Search Wikipedia.  Most photographs featured in the pages of Wikipedia are licensed under a Creative Commons License or are in the public domain.  NOTE: You are responsible for going to the original source of the photograph to ensure that the person who added the photograph to the page is right!
