Citing reference sources
Whenever a student incorporates an idea, quote, data, image of other content that is not theirs into a paper of project, he/she must list the source of information in the form of a bibliography.
Primary students should include: title, author and year of publication for a book, and for a Website, note the title, URL, and date of access.
Intermediate students are encouraged to use standard citation format (MLA). A very handy website that will format resources correctly is the following: http://www.bibme.org/
The following link is a search tool which includes many reference tools, study tips and online safety guidelines. It is very “kid-friendly” and the content is appropriate for use by elementary age students. kids.yahoo.com |
